I would call that questionable at best. While I would definitely define my basis for knowledge as observable reality, I know my senses - and especially my mind - can be fooled. Minds easily fool themselves, even.

People will defend even the most ridiculous conclusions in the face of overwhelming evidence against that conclusion because 'I know what I saw.'

Unfortunately most people put too much of their ego on the line to objectively examine the facts. Being wrong isn't really all that bad.

Edit: I don't really want to say any more on the topic. I'm not here to start a public argument on whether ghosts exist or not. I just urge everybody to approach any similar claim with skepticism. There's nothing to be lost in that approach.

Oh, and the satanic toaster auction is funny stuff.

OH yeah, back on topic!

Sorry, I just got kinda excited when someone started talking about something I've always been fascinated with. I don't think this thread was going in near as bad a direction as probably 75% of the other threads started here in "Not Exactly SVX" as far as arguing goes.

Anyway, for the record I am always the skeptic on just about everything, while keeping a bit of an open mind as well. These two conflicting philosophies often lead me to the say "I don't EVEN have an opinion!" (famous last words of a minor character in a certain Tarrantino movie)

I don't see how remaining skeptical conflicts with 'keeping an open mind.'

May be OT, maybe not (I didn't read the last 2 pages). When me and my wife went to visit our freind in Main who had been in a serious car accident we went back to her 1800's something house to hang out with other freainds and family. Now I must admit the house is kinda spooky. It still has a painting of the original family that built the house hanging in the hall way. And some of those family members died in a fire that is still evident by the half of the roof that is still original and chared by the fire. But my belives that tha house is haunted and that a gost spoke to her over her cell phone when she was there. She also thinks that the gost called her on her phone and warned her not to tell the people that lived there that the gost was trying to kill them, and that they might even be resposible for the car accident. I think she's just crazy but she will not go back to the house.

I just now looked in this thread and must say that that guy that was selling the toaster seemed to be more full of crap than anyone that I've heard of this week... ... But as many of you can see, people will sell and buy anything on e-bay...

Cool

Even the rich are purchasing wine cooler rooms which are the modern equivalent of wine cellars.
Isn't that right, Ron? [/B][/QUOTE]

Yes they are, Larry. In fact I recently lined the walls of my crawl space with cardboard.

Now, in keeping with the theme of this post, I plan to get three sheets to the wind tonight.

Ron (Always in good spirits).

The word "good" here is debatable. I've never considered wine with screw caps or packed in bladders in boxes to be considered "good" wine.

Now THAT'S saying something, especially if you've read only a FRACTION of the threads in the forum this week.

I was going to say Hustler, but figured that magazine would be too tawdry, even for this crowd. Obviously, YOU have proven me wrong.
