Unhappy High-Rev Tuners

Has anyone watched this show? Its horrible! Between the two tools ()who host it and the 30 minutes of product placment for APC it makes me want to vomit, profusely. They just put a B18b in a civic (about 140 hp) and then threw in half shafts rated to 500 hp....wha? I'm hoping next they'll add a clutch rated at 1000 hp and wheelie bars, maybe a fake intercooler too.

That show is noting but a 30-minute APC commercial.

And the funny part is that APC makes unequivocal crap. When I see a big APC banner in some kid's rear windshield, I just shake my head.

Pockets couldn't have said it better... I like to watch it just to make fun of the idiots that really think that the cars they build are great

I find that show very entertaining for the same reasons you guys mentioned. The 'dudes' that host it make me believe that *anyone* can have their own TV program.

Yeah, and I think that's all down to APC's influence. That company is the epitome of 'ricer' - making stuff 'look fast.' 'Performance pedal covers,' etc.

Anybody watch the even worse (IMHO) Tuner show premiering on Speed last nite (7pm ET)?

They thought they were producing a custom Mazda RX-8. What they did was put on drilled rotors, +1 the wheels/tires, stuck in a NOS bottle, and added vinyl graphics down the side. The guys "modding" the Mazda had to be bleeped as they discussed with each other the graphics package - great TV - really memorable. I assume that since this was the premier episode.......I for one can't wait for the next episode

Then it was followed by another premier show focusing on sports cars - and get this - for their centerpiece they modded an Acura (and not the NSX). Now I'm really looking forward to Tuesdays on Speed (which smilie reflects total disgust?).

HA! I like the first one - especially the puke on his face afterwards. Brilliant.

Yeah, High-Rev Tuners usually sucks pretty bad and the hosts are incredibly irritating, but in the past year they've managed to actually have 2 or 3 decent segments. Unfortunately, that's been the best of the "sport compact car" tuning shows, since Super2NR TV and Nopi Tunervision both suck even more.

That all changed last night though with the introduction of two new shows. Like Lee said, the first one, Tuner Transformation, was TERRIBLE. The mods were a joke, and the "tuners" did nothing but argue and get *bleeped*. I wouldn've been pissed if they returned my car to me in that condition.

However, the second show, Sports Car Revolution, was very well done. It's hosted by the same guys that do "Dream Car Garage", a great show on classic and muscle cars, including some amazing restorations. So what if one of the featured cars was an Acura RSX? They're decent cars with a large aftermarket following and a lot of potential. They also featured several other cars, and have an interesting line-up planned for their first season. The best part though is they're very anti-rice and anti-street racing... "Street racing is like kissing your sister, it just doesn't make sense."

Check out the show's website at http://www.sportscarrevolution.com/. This one really is a decent show and worth watching, even if they aren't featuring a SVX
