Like buy an overpriced SUV that will never go off road and usually only have one person in it? Yeah, good idea.

Hey Solar, Dayle just said any DSM product will blow up after 80k. Same with the mini cooper engine. :P

Nope. The eclipse engine is not the same as the neon engine. While they share the same bore and stroke, the parts do not interchange, and they're completely different engines.

Anyway, my point was is that Mopar and Mitsubishi have 'co-designed' a lot of things over the years... mitsu was big into turbos, hence a lot of older dodge cars had turbos. Dodge Omni GLHS. Shelby Daytona.. Lebaron GTC... Grand Caravan (yes TURBO!), Chrysler has a LOT of turbo knowledge (thanks to mitsu) and if Dayle here is saying the 'srt4' will blow up, he's also saying any turbocharged mitsu is going to blow up. Which is untrue.

the Only car worth mentioning in that group was the GLH, and even then only like the last yr was quick ....None of them where reliable at all, hence the reason they never kept them in production. Ive seen the older Lazer turbos etc built up and made quick, but after $4k plus, seems a little steep to keep a street motor race ready, when its not a Supra or RX7.
To put it in perspective, try this:

Ford started building the 2.3L motor early 70s, pintos and mustang IIs (haha).in 1979 they turbo charged it, a weak design
but it still made it in the 1979 Indy Pace Car Mustang. They continued to use the engine up till 1983, where they made it more powerful, and better by changing some internals and adding EFI. Those where all used the Mustangs and Thunderbird turbo coupes from 83-88 with Excellent results and cars with well over 150k miles on them, some stock, many boosting 15 psi. or more. Then It was even used in the well known 84-86 Mustang SVOs with nothing but praises from the race teams and public.
Thats 2 decades of using the almost same style block for almost 20 yrs !!
So much so, the 2.3L was used thru out the 80s and 90s, and today still in GTU road racing. Now THATS a proven engine you can be comfortable using for any reason, street, race or whatever!! Sorry....mits or dodge cant touch a reputation like that with their 2.0 or 2.2s ......sorry

I disagree. YOU, are the first person who I've EVER heard praise those turbo 2.3 liter mustangs. In fact, until a few days ago, when you mentioned you were selling yours (must be real good eh), I've heard nothing but bad things about them. Think about Mitsu cars... the eclipse, laser, talon are all mitsu/chrysler products... the starion... the conquest tsi... the Omni GLHS (which was fast all years, all you had to do was crank the boost! it could take it!) the stealth R/T, the mitsubishi 3000GT vr4, the list goes on and on. Mopar and Mitsu dominate the Turbo scene. Hell, what FORD product is there that competes with the STI? Mitsu has one. Dodge kinda has one. Ford has.... the SVT focus? bhahaha.

Maybe you just need to listen with you ears and not
your mouth.....Theres about 100+ websites all over the
net for 2.3L fans, yeah...I guess 20 + yrs of an unbeatable
engine is just my imagination. Dodge cant compare when it
comes to 4 cyl or turbo engines....sorry, youre living in a dream
world. Actually selling the conv 1984 2.3L turbo because got an offer
of $6000 for it...Youd be lucky to get $500 for 19 yr old Dodge !! LOL LOL You cant sell a 5 yr old Neon or AWD Eclipse Turbo for over $3500 !!!! LOL, what a JOKE!
Doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out what car holds
their value better
..Its roughly my 10th turbo Mustang, not to mention Ive had 2 turbo coupes in the family on top of it.
If I had room, hell yeah...Id keep them all.

You forgot the galant VR4 now there is a sleeper.

I don't know that they dominate the turbo seen per se most of the cars you listed are not in production or are in production but no longer turbo (eclipse). that would be like me saying the SVX dominates the GT scene, sure we love the car but apparently we're a minority.

I had a 93 eclipse GST loved the car but after the second engine blew up I'm pretty much jaded on the whole DSM thing. And no I didn't mod the car in any way I didn't street race it (well I did run through NY on 95 north with a dodge stealth at a bit over 125 but I was well under redline and the car seemed to be loving it) the **** just broke. as an after though t i will say i would not be dissapointed if there was an EVO or a SRT4 sitting in my driveway. (unless i came home and fouind it there and the owner was inside with my wife lol)

I will say that I think its bull$hit for people to get angry with you to talk about a car you like even if it is a POS (j/k couldn't resist the rib shot). Its weird the things that insight people to anger.
