Looking for a front differential
Hey guys,
I'm looking for a front differential for my 95 L AWD. Also is there a diff from a different car that might bolt right in? Thanks

The front diff is built into the transmission case. You can rebuild it. Unless you swap the tranny and rear diff parts to a 4.44 from a 90's Legacy or Outback, you're stuck with using the SVX front diff.
Are you sure it's the front diff that's toast?

It might be a better idea to swap to a 4.44 trans. It would be a good upgrade overall, and not any more difficult to do.

I've been going through hell and back to get my SVX back on the road. The problem is that my transmission won't shift into 4th gear and my speedometer and odometer are not functioning as well. I replaced both the VSS1 and VSS2 replaced the wiring because it was very brittle and it still had the issue. I took it in to a "Transmission Specialist" and they thought it was an electrical issue as well, but now he is saying that the problem is coming from the front differential and that my pinion and gear are broken. I'm not very happy with his diagnosis but I have no other ideas to get my car back on the road. Now going on 2 months sitting at the shop Thanks
