WTB: Radiator or the top plastic tank

if you got one, shoot me a PM. I'm really looking for the top tank which is cracked on mine but if you have a decent condition radiator, let me know.

Yep, that's the way to go. I've bought 2 Ebay rads and they have worked well for 2 and 4 years respectively.

Re: WTB: Radiator or the top plastic tank

Just a note-

I bought mine from Radiatorclassic on ebay for $118.

I received is a Silla Radiator from them, though they do not mention the mfg.

~$30 cheaper than the other guys..

Re: WTB: Radiator or the top plastic tank

thanks for the links gents. I'll go check them out.

Do our radiators have only one row? That's what it appears looking through the filler neck!

I saw them on Ebay but wasn't sure. Since you've had good luck with them, I'll follow suite. Thanks for the info.

Pardon my ignorance but is Silla radiator made in the U.S.? Can you tell if there's a manuf sticker on your unit? Just curious since the price is so competitive, thought I'd ask.

The Silla is made in China.

Re: WTB: Radiator or the top plastic tank

It seems to be a common fault the plastic tank failing. It happened on both my SVXs. The favoured solution here in NZ seems to be to fabricate a new tank from metal.
Choice of materials, I think with brass it can be braised onto the radiator (more expensive, more reliable) or aluminium which is clipped or crimped onto the radiator.
The first repair is now approaching 9 years old and no signs of failure. The other car was sold.

Re: WTB: Radiator or the top plastic tank

well now, that is a much better long term solution. I wasn't aware that a local radiator shop can simply build me a new top tank. Do you have a picture of yours? I still kept the oem radiator so I may follow up on this....some day!
