I was already aware of the different shapes and how they affect compression ratio, i wasn't aware that ej22 turbo pistons would drop the compression ratio that low. has me re thinking my application. thanks guys

Why would anyone? It would be far too low of compression to be of any serious use. It would take a twin turbo setup utilizing smallish turbo's at higher boost levels just to be somewhat affective before 4k RPM. Plus, the cost of getting those pistons wouldn't be much lower than getting the custom ones we have available through Mike at ECUtune. Unless that is, you were going to use used pistons which would be an awful decision in so many ways that it's pointless to continue saying anything...
