DDM HID's Not Working

K so I bought the Apexcone 35W kit 'cause both headlights were burnt but they aren't working. I remember driving around with 1 burnt light for awhile and then the second burning. I'm wondering if it's possible my second headlight didn't actually burn out but there's some other malfunction. Is there a fuse for the lowbeams? Anyone have any advice and/or suggestions.

I have a spare 9006 bulb so I'm going to put that in real fast to test out if it works but I'm posting this now so I can hopefully get some feedback to read when I come back from work.

Did you reverse the plug into the ballast? This is necessary on the DDMs

Re: DDM HID's Not Working

I'm not sure what you mean. If I remember correctly it's connected like this:

The light has two plugs which feed through the weather seal and plugs into the ballast. The ballast then has another wire attached to it, which plugs into the extension wire, which feeds back through the weather seal and that is the connector I plugged into the lowbeam plug.

One more thing. Did anyone use the weather seal? 'Cause it doesn't seem to fit anywhere.

Edit: Didn't have time to test the regular bulb yet. I'm still at work

Edit2: Aha! I forgot about the reverse thing. So what do I have to do? Can I just reverse the wires on any connection? If I pull the extension cable out and reverse one end's wires that will do?

And one last thing.. would putting it in normally wreck the lights? :S

Re: DDM HID's Not Working

just unplug the connector, flip it over, and plug it back in.

I reversed mine the first time and it didn't wreck them.

Re: DDM HID's Not Working

Couldn't wait any longer so I went out and flipped the connectors. They work! Thanks a lot, guys. Hopefully the boss didn't see me out there :P

I'm still wondering as to weather or not anyone used the weather seal that came with the kit and if so how did you go about installing it?

Re: DDM HID's Not Working

I also cut off the seal but used the extention cable to mount the ballast behind the fender.

Re: DDM HID's Not Working

On the passenger side I mounted it where the ABS would be. I've got a FWD, unfortunately. On the drivers side I mounted the ballast behind the fuse box.

I'm delighted with these lights
