Working on my cars last night, had tools piled all over the engine, and my cell phone right on the front over one of the headlights, and my struts gave way, and it came crashing down. I was really worried that it crushed my cell phone, but fortuantly it did not, because of the maglite on the side of the engine bay. Now i just use a retractable stick to hold it up.

my perfect hood prop rod is a icescrapper/broom combo. you put the ice scraper end between the fuse box and the strut tower, and the broom end has a round pointed end perfect for fitting in one of the holes in the hood.
still n all its time to replace one of the struts at a minimum. |

Yeah, I'm gonna grab a drill and have my old man bend and condition a prop for me. My shocks are good, but this way if they ever go out while I'm on the road, I'll still be able to dick around under the hood.
