Re: finding people ...

I don't think there is any way to search member locations. There is a network sponsored site where owners can register but it seems to have been overlooked by most. It is so searchable and is linked to here. Maybe our resident geeks can add a link here...

casper how far are you from Erie, PA? I live in SW NY.. Maybe we can have a mini meet! Are you going to the 10th anniversary meet? I'm looking for someone to caravan with until we meet up with the NE drivers..

Actually, I am from NE Ohio. Where are you from? I am 20 min south of Akron. Just curious, how long have you had a svx and do you know of any good shops for the car. I'm a little weary of taking to just any place, I just got it about a month ago

Hey BG,

I used to live and work in Akron and have had good and bad experiences with shops there.

Avoid Bishop for anything other than ordering parts and basic stuff. They're focused on the Buick side of the business, or at least were when we lived there ('96-'98). I've had good luck with the two European shops on Cleve-Mass Road, Euro-Car is one and I'm spacing on the other. When we were in town, Euro-Car had an ex-Subie tech on staff. Very capable group of enthusiasts.

Actually, Bishop went out of business about 2 or 3 weeks ago. The closest Subaru dealer is in Brunswick where I got my car. I know of the Autoban shop by the square in Copley on Cleve-Mass Rd. Is that the Euro-car place? just a name chage maybe?

BG,

Autobahn is the one close to the square, that's the one I couldn't remember. Euro-Car is also on Cleve-Mass, but since I've been out of Akron for 4 years or s now, I can't remember wher they are located exactly.

Both shops have worked on the SVX. I had good experiences with both.
