Check engine code 12?

I know it's the starter switch. Is this the ignition switch? or the solenoid on the starter? Why would this come up? I have no problems starting the car. The check engine came on while I was driving up an incline, then it went away. Any idea?

I would presume the component covered by the fault mode would be the starter solenoid. I wonder if this could have been caused to mechanically partially engage on the incline. Your guess is as good as any.
