Unhappy Very Sad=Mark Lovell

Very Sad News

Did anyone hear that Mark Lovell and Roger Freeman were killed at the Oregon Trail Prorally? They were the first car on the first stage and the accident happened within the first mile. It was said that they were in excess of 100 mph when they lost control and slammed into a tree. Death was immediate for both.

I was Co-Driving for car 299. We showed to ATC and were promptly directed to the service area where we waited for a long time before we heard any news. All they told us is that the race would continue and more information would come later. That night we got in around 11:00 and they informed us of this tragedy.

That night I went into the bar to get a pint and some dinner and I dropped in on the conversation of the stage 1 workers. Apparently things were really really bad.

My heart goes out to those who knew Mark and Roger.

I also hope that this a long with the problems in Penn. don't hurt the SCCA to badly.

What problems in PA? I must have missed that.

I believe two spectators were killed in PA during a SCCA rally.
