Front wheel bearing
I took my car back in May to get some service...Dealership told me front wheel bearing should be replaced. I didn't do it at the time, but I can feel some vibration in the pedal and steering wheel and some noticeable more pronounced vibration noise kind of coming from my right front...I am now thinking it's the bearing.
Anyone have the part number(s) of the parts I need to fix this? I think I would need a new axle nut and bearing, but extra parts to consider?? And also what grease should I use to repack the bearing? Thanks |

Make sure it's not the balance or an uneven tire or a bent rim before replacing the bearing.

A bearing wont vibrate but it will growl.

Really? See I cannot really tell....The tires make their normal road noise, but they are newer tires (less than 2k) and the rims were checked for roundness and everything balanced. Ball joint was replaced recently. I just want to have the right parts ready to replace the bearing when it's time.

I used synthetic bearing grease. Mobile one or Castrol are good.

i think the bearing makes more of a 'whorl' noise when its going.

But can you feel it in the way the car drives? Does it still steer smoothly or does everything feel bumpy, etc.? So far I have no problems driving.....maybe it isn't the bearing after all...I dunno.
