Routing of trans cooler lines

I am preparing to install a trans cooler on my 92 this Friday.

I have installed several trans coolers on vehicles varying from rock crawlers to race cars so the install is not the issue here.

I searched the various threads on this topic and found data from several sources but most didn't reveal how they routed the trans cooler lines; just the location of the cooler.

What I want is opinions as to where I route the cooler lines. On the feed side before the radiator or on the return side as it flows back to the tranny?

It seems to me that the radiator obviously did a marginal job at best so I would think adding the cooler on the return side would provide more cooling.

Basically would the heat from a hot radiator reheat cooled fluid (assuming I added it inline on the feed side of the radiator)?

If anyone understood what I just said, I'm impressed. Sorry I'm a little tired right now.

Ira
