JDM Folding Mirrors Wiring

Hi all,

Reaching out to confirm the following:

I have a set of JDM folding mirrors and in the process of installing, couple of observations regarding the passenger side install:

1) Passenger side mirror base(USDM) did not require new alignment hole for JDM mirror, driver, now US passenger side;

2) Passenger side JDM mirror (JDM driver side) has three wires - yellow, blue/white and white, as compared to the JDM folding driver side has 7 wires (makes sense right? Two additional wires for the folding operations.

3) comparison to US passenger mirror which has 5 wires...

I briefly wired up my driver's side mirror and confirmed it works, actually folds. Interestingly enough it doesn't have an "objects will appear closer" warning. JDM driver/US passenger both have the warning. I found that odd...

Re: JDM Folding Mirrors Wiring

Is there any aberrant distortion noticeable having the mirrors on the reversed sides? IE can you see a normal image in both mirrors?

Re: JDM Folding Mirrors Wiring

No noticeable distortion from either mirror, more noticeable and troublesome was the angle which made driving outright dangerous.

Replaced both JDM mirrors with US bases and the angle issue was pretty much resolved.
