Thanks! The original Ebony was great! But when I had the body and paint done, I had to go with "Classic Black".
And the lights exceeded my expectations!

Hard to tell but it looks like you left the inside area between the beads unpainted. To prevent oxidation and get a better bead seal you should also paint that are over a short period of time the oxidation wll cause air leakage.

Hmm, I don't think that was painted originally. Did they do something at the factory to prevent oxidation?

Drove it to the Mountain. My friend commented on how well my skis matched my SVX. I had never noticed before but he's right.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Fixed my sticking hood latch, looked for my ballast, how do you remove the grill ? I can see it under the head light . Is it easier to remove the head light ? I can almost reach it through the inner fender well . I may just leave them there and add new ones to the inside fender . Where is everyone putting theirs ?

The grill is held on by 2, on the older style maybe 4 on the 97, clips you push down on the tab, with a small screwdriver or something and pull forward the bottom is held by plain drop in posts when the top is away pull up.

The headlight is bolted in you have to remove the grill to remove the lights.

Sorry about that. "Classic Black" is what I told the body shop when I was discussing what I wanted. The actual paint color is "Jet Black".

As far as the pic, I don't mind at all. I'm glad you like it!

Today I took "Black Beauty" back to the body shop to show them the new headlights and turn signals! They loved it!

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Why not go all the way to the hood seam instead of trying to follow the hardly noticeable fender crease. The most difficult and most expensive part ( not expensive for you because you will be doing the painting ) is the sun roof as told to me by my body shop. The rubber has to be pulled away ( lifted )so u can paint under it. The sun roof panel has to be removed and the door have to be left cracked open , that requires covering the interior. This is just what I was told to prevent it from pealing.
