Re: Lsvx-t
Gecko "race" coilovers. We'll see how well they hold up. If they are miserable, I may just make custom control arms to utilize STI hubs since my brake kits is meant for them anyway. More on the brakes next month as I won't see them for a while

Re: Lsvx-t
Will you need to cut a hole in the hood? It look like it might just fit.

It would look more interesting without one Tom.

I wish I could but the room is simply not there. Hopefully I can find a creative way to make it look like it's supposed to be there

Re: Lsvx-t
So got really close to starting it for the first time today. Unfortunately I will not be able to use the Subaru throttle pedal I wanted to as the sensor values are outside of the acceptable parameters for the Holley ecu. Since it's dbw the engine will not start without a properly calibrated tps. I have the correct pedal coming for tomorrow. I will have to make another adapter plate for the new pedal. I did hotwire my fuel pump and adjust the fuel pressure regulator and ensure the preliminary wiring is good. Tomorrow I will work on wiring in my fans and relays and find a way to use the vss from the trans to work with the ECU inputs. I will try and put up a first start video if I get the pedal early enough to do it without the neighbors calling the fuz. It's really coming together!

Re: Lsvx-t
We'll it was short lived but it's alive!!! https://youtu.be/uPV1dAc5-Ls
Long story short I couldn't get it to restart again lol. Talking to Holley tech support and found the aftermarket throttle body was causing a tps error. Whenever this happens it cuts fuel. I plopped a spare truck throttle body on it and fired up without issue. So now I get to shop for a real deal tb. Not really a big deal since this one came with the intake manifold but still a bummer. Re: Lsvx-t
Epic. Congrats. The end is near! Very roughly, how much total time do you think you have into this build so far?

Re: Lsvx-t
Thanks guys. I probably have over 100-200 hrs into this so far. Been working for a year already. I know it looks like a total mess right now but it's good I got it started. Have some bugs to work out and I'd like to get them tended before it goes together. Looks like I will have to reimagine my cooling system. I already ordered a new throttle body as it doesn't look like the internals are serviceable. Going with a more reputable brand. I will also need to swap out my voltage regulator for an older design so it charges properly. Right now I am only getting 13.5v which is ok but not what I'd like to see. Lots more wiring to do. Gotta get light module wired up and my new window switches. I will post more progress as it comes!

Re: Lsvx-t
I got to mock up one side today. Someone at wilwood fudged the parts catalog for the wrx 13 and 14" kits. It is supposed to use the same radial mount for both kits just utilize a spacer for the 14" rotors. Obviously this is not true. The 13" kit will use different mounts. So that means I did some "make this **** fit" modification and voila! I have cut down the studs in the pictures so they don't stick out so far. I will need to make up some shims for on top of the caliper mounts as I used lock washers for mock up. It fits and fits well! So now you have an off the shelf big brake kit for the fronts. It requires a little shaving with a sanding wheel and some new paint but otherwise pretty simple. Hope others can use this info
