Auto-RX in 100K SVX
Just changed oil & filter after 800 mile Auto-RX treatment: I'm a believer in this fine product, which seems to do exactly what it claims to do - it gently cleans your engine and removes 3rd- party gunk, dirt, etc. Not an oil additive, not an engine flush but a cleaner that works in transmissions, too!
The oil was twice as dirty as I have ever seen it after 3K miles (my usual change interval) , but THIS oil only had about 1,500 miles on it, so it was actually 4X as dirty as would seem normal. After cutting open the filter I saw quite a bit of trapped material, not "full" by any means, but certainly more than I've ever seen before when I opened one up. My engine was very clean to begin with so I was doubly impressed by this product! To make a long story short, go to the Website for Auto-RX (I think it is just http://www.auto-rx.com) and read a bit about this product: there is also another site called "BobistheOilGuy" on the oildrop server that has a wealth of info about oil, tranny fluid, additives, etc. More than you can imagine! I'm not selling this stuff, have no interest other than letting you all know about one fine product IMHO! Regards! Norm

glad you're getting good results. this is a product to definitely use before switching from dino to synthetic oil.

synthetic vs. dino
With the limited number of miles I am now putting on the SVX I will probably stay with dino oil & filter changes each 3K from now on...
I still get them free at the dealership! Best $39.95 for maintenance I ever spent!

Guys and Gals using Auto-Rx.
Cutting open the filter is not the best indicator of the functionality of the RX product in a non sludged engine, IMHO. A better indicator is reduced oil consumption, lower emissions test levels, oil analysis tests that show INCREASED oxidation ( cleaning ) during use, reduced Nitration during and after use ( better combustion efficiency), and finally reduced wear values. The reason the large oil companies don't want Auto-RX is that it is expensive to produce and the incentive to use effective and expensive high quality additives in not consistant with the competitive PCMO market. Another reason is that Auto-RX can be used effectively with lower cost oils to boost their performance but is not required every oil change thus reducing the repeat sales issues. The larger oil companies want cheap lubes that resell over and over quickly. I suspect many companies are checking out RX and I believe it will be sold in the future once it has become more accepted in the industry as a viable alternative to gummed up engines. Understand it was only patented last year. Terry Dyson Independent Oil Analyst |

I've decided to give it a try, took advantage of their "special" and ordered my 3 bottles yesterday. My 92 SVX has almost 300,000 km's on it. I feel it's running great right now but after so many kilometers on it, I believe the engine could be scummed up pretty good. I've used lots of different oil additives over the years and God knows what they could have left behind in my engine. I'll report back with results once I've had the chance to use it, regards dave

You should be impressed: I was.
laserx: Please do let me know when your initial treatment is done.
300,000 klicks is a "fur piece" and you should be amazed what junk actually comes out. These engines are so well-designed and almost overbuilt: who knows just how far they can actually go with a little extra care? I intend to try and find out. Getting the remnants of those various additives out will be very intertesting. Have you had any major engine work done? What condition do you think your engine is now? Regards!

Just got confirmation from RX that my order was shipped so I'll be trying it out real soon. My SVX has 290,000 km on it. No engine work has been done what so ever. I've had knock senors replaced, airflow senor replaced and a leaking valve cover gasket replaced and two sets of spark plugs. That's about it for anything to do with the engine. Don't get me started on other stuff. Beariings all around, boots the same, rad, condensor, complete airconditioning system, tranny, countless rotors, power stearing pump, power rack twice .......etc. I told you not to get me started, but the engine its self, no problems, still smooth as silk and fast. Hope I notice some change for the good after using this product, regards dave
