Rear Crossover?
Is there some sort of crossover or resistor between the receiver and the rear speakers? My new ones suck when centered.

not in any of the wiring diagrams.
aftermarket speakers almost always need more power, my factory speakers have 15 watts labels. |

Lee is right. There is no crossover. Try adding an amp inline between the headunit and the speakers. That should fix up your problems.
