Thanks! The only reason I was able to risk this project was because we built our kitchen first! Lol

Re: Lsvx-t

Well unfortunately I decided the engine and trans should be installed before I started on the wiring. That means trans mount version 3.0 had to be made. I needed all the clearance I could get under the car and the last two mounts I made just weren't going to cut it. I welded some c channel rails between the chassis rails on the tunnel and made ears that come through the tunnel. Then made up a new c channel mount for the underside of the car. I think this will provide the support I will need and allow for the clearance required for a 3.5" exhaust to slip by it. Very tight quarters under there but I finally like the way the trans is supported.

Now I can focus on my electrical moving forward until my backordered parts arrive

Tom

I must say this forum is 100% more interesting since you started this build.

Re: Lsvx-t

I feel like I'm stuck in a constant loop of side jobs and I really should be working on starting wiring but I had an opportunity to get a dash this weekend so I picked up this legacy dash and mockup looks respectable. A lot of work to be done mounting it properly but not a terrible fit. Will definitely require so extra material to make it fit against the windshield as the arch is all wrong but so far I like it.

Re: Lsvx-t

Why not an SVX dash? The legacy style looks a little plain to me.

Re: Lsvx-t

I like the look of it better. The svx dash is not in my taste and considering this will be the only piece of interior going into the car, not really critical I guess?

On the subject of the 3.5" exhaust clearance. When my brother installed a 495 cu. in. McLaren engine in his 70 1/2 Camaro, he ovalled the tuned exhaust that he built to give a bit more ground clearance. This might work for your application.

Yea I've considered it but not sure if I'll need to just yet. We'll see how that goes once I'm there. Right now I am working on the electrical systems. Battery cables have been made circuit breakers for starter/alternator and a separate one for everything else installed. Will begin my ignition circuits hopefully this weekend and then blossom into the lighting. I am holding off on any engine circuits beyond the ecm ignition feed until my ems and harness are here.

Re: Lsvx-t

Legacy dash looks more modern but not as classy. I don’t care that much though — I just want to see the beast run.

Re: Lsvx-t

Most of my electrical work I can do is sorted. So I have begun final assembly. I do need to get my hot pipes wrapped but that's not too big of a deal.
