No - but I guess if we spun their vinyl along with Moby Grape & Strawberry Alarm Clock, we'd get salad rock. Anyone for Meat Loaf?

Randyi, if you enjoyed tight harmonies of the flower power era, my favorite group of all time was the semi-famous Beau Brummels. And The Mamas & the Papas - still brings chills.
Peace!! Ron.

Yep, both faves of mine also. Of course PP&M, CSN&Y, Spanky and Our Gang . . . yes, I love harmonies.

OK... really OT SVX, but not this thread. Just to show the power of the internet. About 30 years ago I heard a melody aired a few times on FM top 40 radio. I remembered the name of the song & the group, & never purchased the "45", but the haunting beauty of the song never left me. The group was called "Pan", the song was called "Lady Honey" & neither was ever heard from or about again. Many years later, while perusing through a few books dedicated to obscure rock musicians, I found that "Pan" was a one album effort by Ron Elliott of the Beau Brummels. I was never ever able to find the album, being long out of print. Enter cyberspace. I found a website for the Beau Brummels, & contacted Ron Elliott. He's now a sculptor/artist. He E-mailed me back, giving me some insite into the group "Pan" & gave me the catalog number of the album. I found the vinyl album on E-Bay about a year ago, & my $5.00 bid got it shipped to my doorstep.
Ain't 'puters neat?
Ron.

Ron.
I think I have Country Joe & the Fish in my vinyl archives, somewhere. No Fugs, alas.

The Smith's 'How Soon is Now' goes on my SVX drivin' CD, too. Sorry to revive such a bloated thread, but I just had that thought.

<<The Smith's 'How Soon is Now' goes on my SVX drivin' CD, too.>>

You been watching Charmed lately or something? That song was also used in the movie "The Craft" from 1996 which the show "Charmed" was modeled after.

When that show started, My wife said "this is a cool song. I wonder who it is." So I went to the CD box and started pulling out my Morrissey CDs and Smith CDs and started introducing her to the music from yesteryear.

Now she keeps "Vauxhall and I" in her CD changer all the time.

I still love "Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want", its a little mellow for normal driving, but its good for that 3AM drive home from a unsuccsessful night out.

Doug

BTW: I received my copy of Leonard Cohen's "I'm you Man" from CD Now. The other Leonard Cohen CDs I ordered are still backordered.

I did catch an episode or two of 'Charmed' when I was single and had nothing to do.

No, I just dig the song and WinAmp called it up at random.

Talking My tunes

I'm usually pumping Crystal Method, Rage Against the Machine, Sevendust, or TRUSTcompany. Tenacious D is for when I'm in a funny mood. Howard Stern in the mornings. I can't wait till I get my 10 CD MP3 changer. When combined with ACID Pro that theoretically gives me about 100 hrs of music that I made....SWEET!

I've got tons of cd's. But the only ones I listen to everyday are the newest KoRn, and System of a Down.
I've got an mp3 player, but decided not to convert all of my music, ...they won't play on anything but my car sterio.
