Re: Cumberland Speedweek Saturday, July 13, 2013

Well, I'm officially signed in for Saturday and Sunday. Saturday in Harry's SVX and Sunday in OT's Racer. Look out brickwalls!

When is everyone showing up at OT's house?

Bill

Can anyone pitch in here with what the refund policy is if the event gets rained out? Looks like thunderstorms are predicted for both Sat and Sun!!

Bill
I'm seeing isolated t-storms and 30% chance of rain for both days.
Normal refund policy is credit for another event but I don't know about for complete rain out.

Re: Cumberland Speedweek Saturday, July 13, 2013

Here are some photos and videos - RESULTS at 11:00 .....

http://s222.photobucket.com/user/new...?sort=6&page=1

Elazar did great - Bill is "older and slower" ..... My gosh, he is even talking about "retiring" from NASA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW, the weather was GREAT on Sat ..... Elazar and I agreed that Bill had an advantage since he ran in the first group with the very cool, cloudy morning .... :-)

Harry

Re: Cumberland Speedweek Saturday, July 13, 2013

Great pictures Harry!! It was awesome to have more fellow SVXers there, especially fine outstanding gentlemen such as you and Bill. Today was just as good, better weather and Bill did great in the Racer he didn't hit anything/anyone!!

Looking forward to seeing more come out next month and maybe for the Hill Climb too.

Re: Cumberland Speedweek Saturday, July 13, 2013

Ditto on what Elazar and Harry said! Great company, good-to-great weather (no rain!), and the SVXi mopped up in STX and FP! Harry demonstrated what "smooth" is all about on his 4th run group runs (cough, cough.....tire pressure...cough, cough...) and Elazar is just screaming in the Racer.

5 runs on Saturday (no break for lunch), 6 runs today (3 before lunch, 3 after). Sundays course was slightly longer and slower due to changes the course designer made to the Saturday set up - still a blast, just required some subtle changes in the way you attacked the course.

Much thanks to Harry and OT for letting me drive their SVXi!! Two different SVXi "beasts" with their own distinct characteristics. The Racer keeps improving - amazing what moving the seat forward and adding a seat pad can do for your driving ergonomics!

Cheers,
Bill

Couple of pics from Sat/Sun:

Harry Newman - SVX AutoX Zen Concentration Master!

Might need a little air in those tires

Is that front wheel off the ground?

Yes, there were some trailered "beasts" on the loose (also a FF Cobra Daytona that was pure "Nasty")

Amazing what growing an inch and learning to live with lightness would do for ergonomics as well.
