Light burnt out...?

Tonight, I noticed that the driver side light doesn't work.
I guess you would call them 'running' lights. The one
The bright's and fog light's work, but the 'normal' one doesn't.
Does this mean I have to replace the whole headlight assembly or just the light bulb?

Just replace the bulb.... it's #9006 available at any auto parts place. Think about replacing both sides as they tend to go out in pairs and maybe go for an upgraded bulb while you're at it. B.

Unplug the connector from the bulb, and twist the bulb counterclockwise when facing forward. However, since you will be facing the back of the car, the direction will be clockwise to you. Twist it ~ 1/4 turn and remove out of the housing. Be careful not to touch the bulb with your fingers when instlling the new one. If you do, wipe with a clean rag and isopropyl alcohol to remove any oils.

This has to be the simplest "repair" that you can do on this car.

Mine burnt out about 2 weeks ago. Avoid any "HID wannabe" bulb with colored glass. Get ONLY bulbs that have clear glass. I upgraded to some of those 'ghost in the machine' cool blue bulbs that have clear glass; they're GREAT. They're brighter than stock, and they look awesome (just really WHITE, not blue).

Or do a true HID conversion.

I'm working with a company that will be offering a true HID conversion for the SVX. It will involve you sending in your headlight housings. They would replace the projector with a proper HID projector, and fit the correct bulb. BMW style "Angel Eyes" May also be available. Stay tuned.

Can you define true. Is it legal?

Our reflectors are fine the way they are. I compared them to the audi reflectors with my HID hooked up. The auto leveling and washers are still needed. I got the washers taken care of. I am in search of the auto leveling unit.

Why do you want washers or a leveling system? Like anyones going to notice. If a cop asks, just say it was HID from the factory. Like he'll ever know.

It's not for your excuse to the officer. If you do not have the right leveler and washer, the glare from your car can cause accidents on the oncomming traffic. HIDs emitts too much light compare to the other cars. Humans are like insects. They also follow the light at night in darkness.

Lwin,

According to the company I'm working with they will need to be replaced with projectors designed for HID capsle lights. I am sending them a headlight asby this week for them to look at. I will keep you posted.
