Don't count me out just yet... not quite on my deathbed.

This has been a particularly stressful year and and I apologize for my lack of patience and negativity. Major ongoing family health problems blind-sided me for awhile.

Fron no problems at all during last Reading and throughout most of the summer, to knee arthroscopy in September (didn't work) to the realization that I need full knee replacement(s) really bummed me out. I am a lousy patient and being sidlined for even a little while drives me crazy. Reading is not the kind of place I want to feel restricted in any way. I liked being on my feet until 3am and surviving on 4 hours of sleep before starting over.

i don't know when (or how) Reading became "my baby". It was already a reality before I came to the network. I went, liked what I saw, became more enthusiastic and active and the rest is history. If anyone here has a baby, its Larry Singer and his 10th Anniversary Meet..

As all this drama gets closer, I am more encouraged that everything will work out fine. Sorry for the temporary series of brain-farts.

As long as everyone still desires to meet in Morgantown, I will continue to be involved with hotel accommodations and whatever else needs to be done. I have to say it will be hard to find another hotel that will welcome us as warmly, look the other way as needed, and let us get by with the things we do. We have become as much a part of their history as they are ours.

Put only 900 miles on my car in the past year. I can't even remember the last time I saw my Dremel! But my enthusiasm for the car, Reading, and the love for all of the friends that I have come to know here will see me through.

New blood with fresh enthusiasm and ideas are essential to Reading. An active planning committee is desparately needed. You don't need to be an administrator or moderator to speak up. Feel free to tackle anything you think would work. Don't be afraid of stepping on anyone's toes. The founding fathers welcome any help you have to offer

My apologies for my recent negative outlook. I will do better.

From the "Forum Leaders" page;

Has the committee made any plans yet?

As I explained in the PM I sent you, last time I put the effort into putting an activitee together for Reading and posted about everything I had planned, there were other secret plans made for a major event at the same time. I'm not going to do that again.

NO MORE SURPRISES!

Whatever comes up in the future for Reading, I promise to keep the membership here totally informed if it is within my power.

The Pace Car appearance is now history and a very valuable lesson has been learned.

Do you want to hear about the very remote possibility of the appearance of the SVX Prototype? All it takes is a commitment of between $25,000-$30000 from us. The Pace Car was a much better deal by comparison.

Surprise!! Ask me how I know this.

Funny, that doesn't sound like an apology to me.

Activities for Reading 13: National March Against The War On Women

I realize that this topic probably means little to many of you, but perhaps there are a few women (or women sympathizers) who think that this issue is more important than their car.

I plan on driving to Harrisburg, PA to join the march, as is is occurring simultaneously in Washington, DC and all 50 state capitals (at least that's the plan).

As I have stated on my Facebook page, I am beyond the age where any legislation regarding women's reproductive issues can affect me directly, but I have nieces who have yet to face those choices and make those decisions and I believe they should have the right to make INFORMED decisions with the help of their doctors, not the government. The women who came before us fought too hard for us to let them take it all away.

If anyone wants to join me, please do. I am not familiar with the Harrisburg area, so if anyone can offer me advice and/or the benefit of their experience regarding that metropolitan area, it would be GREATLY appreciated.

The march is scheduled for 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. so there will still be plenty of time for SVX-related fun!

If you are completely unaware of any of this or these issues, there is a TON of information out there. http://stopthewaronwomen.com/whats_at_stake/ is just one.

Ben,

No need to worry, I have NO intention of voting for that FANATIC!!!!!

I'm fully on board with you and Dr. Paul, only I fear there won't be enough support for him. And since the Republicans are leaving themselves with only UNELECTABLE MADMEN, it looks like Obama may get another term.

It's not the WORST thing that could happen, anyway. ("President Santorum re-writes constitution to rule out all religions in U.S. except his own...... Pope is ecstatic...... Details at 11")

P.S. Did you see where someone has introduced legislation to provide birth control for HORSES? LOL Only in America....

Harry,

Actually, that's the legislation that forced me to get on board. I started reading up on all of the other misogynistic bills being introduced (and passed!) by legislators out there (some are WOMEN!!!) and it got my blood to boiling. I could not BELIEVE what they proposed! And it's just the latest in a series of my-religious-beliefs-trump-your-personal-freedoms bills being passed around the country.

Oh, and on a side note, Rush Limbaugh will burn in HELL. With any luck, while he is still alive and we can watch. (Post in on YouTube, ok?)

Should I bring all of Tom's and my rescues, too? They may not fit in my SVX!

Re: Activities for Reading 13

I'm willing and able to help out with organizing. I've mentioned it before, but I am local.

I can map out a cruise route, and possibly even get some others to join us. I know the Fiero group around here usually runs a cruise, and if you guys are up for it maybe we could run with them (although it'd be more along the lines of them trying to keep up lol)

A new twist on an established Reading activity...

Not sure how Asti works though. Who would think that the most popular guy would be the one with the "full bladder?"

Re: Activities for Reading 13

Speaking of Asti, would anyone like to do an Asti/Moscato tasting? I can try to see how many different sources I can find. It would probably be pretty cheap and we could work out a way to get a 25% premium so some funds could go to the network.

By the way, who won the bottle of Moscato I brought last year for the raffle and how did you like it?

I'm afraid that a serious Asti/Moscato "tasting" is lost on the Reading crowd.

Anything you can mix with orange or cranberry juice, and pour over ice, is the only requirement. i have bought $20.00 bottles of Asti and Moscato to Reading, only to find the preference was for the cheaper $4.99 stuff as a mixer
