The rebuilt pump would NOT have been bought off of E-Bay,
the timing belt and rollers are a good deal off of E-Bay.

Re: T-Belt Question

If you opt for the single DIN, I have an OEM Subaru pocket that came from my Legacy that oughta fit right in.

Re: T-Belt Question

I got the kit and its in the shop, I got that kit from Ebay with the fellers from WA. Will Update how the parts are and how the installation went when its done. Another blizzard here on the east coast, will probably get the car out on Monday.

And Thanks for the offer but I already got the system, waiting for the harness from Svxdc.

Re: T-Belt Question

This is an important question, while I'm at it. Is it necessary to replace the hydraulic tensioner along with the timing belt, idlers, pump, etc....

The hydraulic tensioner was not included in the kit that I ordered from Ebay (t-belt and water pump kit), My mechanic is telling me that it is recommended to change the hydraulic tensioner as well. Is this something I should worry about and get? Or is the kit that I got good enough to move on with?

I just now saw this.
Spent all day on the road yesterday,
been busy in the shop other wise.
Sorry the part was incorrect but it fit the decription that was given to me from the guy you ordered it from.
If you can make a cameo at Reading, you can bring it there.
Reading is a HOOT!

While you're in there it is definately a good idea. I made the mistake of not replacing it on an Outback and a few weeks after the T-belt job it jumped and wrecked the valves. The SVX is non-interference though.

Re: T-Belt Question

Ebay has some, but I'm unsure of the quality. Maybe better to get an OEM one. How much are they anyway?

Re: T-Belt Question

Thanks for all the info!

Car is out and running Great for over a week.

When the car landed the idler cracked and the belt came off, the belt was actually in good condition, and the previous owner had changed the water pump. So I kept the pump and just changed the belt and all the idlers, I didn't get the hydraulic tensioner it was actually in good condition.

The kit I got off of Ebay (from the Washington fellers) fit perfectly, everything is good, THANKS AGAIN!
