Why it is useless, it comes on long after a tranny has moved on to the tranny garden. If I remember correctly the light comes on around 270 degrees. Tranny fluid starts cooking itself around 205-215.

Re: Transmission temp sensor
Yes, I know that, I have read many of the other posts discussing it's threshold. I am not concerned about its abilities.
Does anyone know where it is located? I am thinking valve body? Thanks! |

Re: Transmission temp sensor
If I remember right it is internal. Where I couldn't say.

Re: Transmission temp sensor
It seems to be pretty cryptic. The diagrams seem to show the valve body.
I was hoping it might be on the bell housing somewhere, etc, so I could fit an adapter and plug my new trans temp gauge in to that port. I won't be tapping the pan for it for a while if that is the case and will probably have to splice it in right at the hot output. |
