Re: tranny wont shift?
i got it out today!!!!!! i took it out the first time and it wouldnt shift into 2ed so i brought it back home and took the speed sensor back out and i forgot to take a washer ous...put it back together and drove it in the driveway to see if speedometer was working and it was!!!!!! so i knew the speed sensor was working, took it on the road and it shifted but it didnt shift into 2ed till about 5k rpm.???? anyone know why this is?
it still does not idle right due to the pcv is broke but im fixing that up in my tech calss.still got a few bugs to work out but it ran pretty good for not running for 2 months.!!!!!!!! im so excited that i get my baby back!!!!! |

Re: tranny wont shift?
there are procedures to get the codes w/o a scanner. Go to svx-iw.com. Click SVXipedia in the top menu bar. Click check Error Codes. Find the how-to on pulling TCU codes. print the instructions and take them out to your car. Follow said instructions to get the codes.

Re: tranny wont shift?
Quote:
Code 33 which is VSS2 is the front sensor you mentioned earlier. Probably remnant of when the sensor was not connected. So at this point, go test the resistance of the dropping resistor and then disconnect the battery for at least 20mins. Replace the resistor if resistance is too high or the circuit is completely open or closed. Reconnect the battery, install new resistor if needed and test drive again. Pull the codes again. If the resistor is good you may need to replace the duty Sol A for line pressure, but as I said, more often than not, it is due to the resistor being bad. Tom |
