Re: New for Christmas 08 Stage1Av1

ecutune memory adaptors hold two different tunes which you can switch between if you install a switch. The tune in the default location is what the car runs on unless you install the switch and use it to send power to the adaptor telling it to use the 2nd tune. I'm asking if people want the new aggressive tune in the default location or the secondary location.

Re: New for Christmas 08 Stage1Av1

Wouldn't it be a better idea to have it in the second location so a switch must be on giving it power should something go wrong with it (for test purpose final product could be different?) the default is normal operations. Just my thought would be a switch must be used on the test product should pining or temp rising occur you can stop it.

I vote for secondary location.

Re: New for Christmas 08 Stage1Av1

Well thanks for explaining it to me as I am a lot less technicly and mechanicly inclined as just about EVERYONE here.. Seems to me like it would make sense to put it in the place that is most convient. Secondary?

sounds like at least one of our testers is getting some good mileage info for his stock set up allready. How's everyone else doing?

Re: New for Christmas 08 Stage1Av1

I guess I'll shoot some pm's and make some phone calls. I've got one guy racking up the miles already and no word from the other two. I don't want to leave the one guy waiting for them.

Re: New for Christmas 08 Stage1Av1

Ok, it seems two testers have good mileage data recorded so far. I sent the protoware to them today.

It's in the 2nd memory location so you will need to install a switch to trial it. Stage1v5 tuning is in the default location.

Re: New for Christmas 08 Stage1Av1

Hi Michael ! I've got a question :

Since the chip is a learning one , does the fact that changing while rolling does affect what it learned previously with the other one ?

I'm very interrested with V.1A ( and with a new TCU that we talked about a while back )

The tranny is almost a year now and is still going very well !

Re: New for Christmas 08 Stage1Av1

This tune is a step away from the learning. It essentially skips the trying to learn how much advance it can get away with and goes ahead and uses all the advance it should be able to get away with.

Re: New for Christmas 08 Stage1Av1

I just got what you were asking.....

Yes, as you use the switch the learned in values from while you were running the last one are retained and wrong until new values are learned in.

Re: New for Christmas 08 Stage1Av1

We should have results back from the testers soon and then we can decide if it really is worthy of release or not. I'm guessing you want to save on that canadian shipping and do the two together so maybe hold off till we get the results on the stage1Av1 before getting the tcu. In the mean time give a little thought what rpm you want your full throttle shifts at.

Re: New for Christmas 08 Stage1Av1

For the TCU , I think we'll need a version that will shift at maximum RPM possible for the Stock engine without breaking everything ( 7300 rpm ? )

( i keep in mind that the engine is well taken care of with syntetic oil and all )

And , another one for the upgraded build witch i think is able to rev a bit higher ... ( 8000 rpm for a dailydriver )

what do you think ?

Re: New for Christmas 08 Stage1Av1

I like a 7800 rpm full throttle shift on my car (built engine). With the shift maps I use it is easy to set the full throttle shifts to any rpm lower than 7800 so I can customize the full throttle shift points for you (or anyone) to whatever you want from 7800 down. From 7800 down I can adjust your full throttle shifts using the rev limiters and not have to mess with shift maps.
