removal front bumper incl steel beam

Hi
Due to an accident (my fault) I need to remove the front bumper including the steel beam. I couldnt find a HOW-TO document and I dont have a manual.

When underneath the car there are a confusing number of bolts and a protectionshield of the engine (got that out) and the sides of the bumper

Any easy to tell story?

Thanks

Re: removal front bumper incl steel beam

Ther are 4 big bolts that go down from the engine compartment to remove the bumper.

I think the battery has to come out (been a while since I did this) and there is I think 1 small bolt in th efront center going in the lower opening in the bumper toward the radiator, then the 2 bolts that go up into the bottom of the fenders right by the wheels.

Take some pics while you are at it so you can provide a how-to when you are finished. Good luck.

Huck, I remember when you removed your bumper like that at the 10th anniversary meet to put my old one on. Ah, the memories!

Re: removal front bumper incl steel beam

There are:
4 bolts that hold the beam to the car, located under the hood at each frame rail (Battery needs to come out)

There's one bolt in the radiator support...Accesable from the lower opening in the bumper cover

there are two bolts at the fenders...you need to move the plastic fender liner out of the way, or remove it completely to access the bolts, which go UP through the cover into the fender *Theese are a ***** to remove*
there's also two fasteners that ook lke realy flat 17mm bolts...One at each end of the bottom of the bumper cover. There are also sevral across the front (Pay no mind to the 10 or so screws holding the plastic curb guard to the bumper..there should nly be 4 or 5 bolts that go through the bumper and undertray and into the rad support)
