just bought an svx, what's this button do?
it's done: 92 SVX LSL with 142k is mine. i guess claret is maroon in svx parlance.
i bought an automatic (arent they all? smirk) but what's the little 'manual' button do? |

It allows you to skip first gear and start in second so that you can have better control in really deep snow and situations where you need more traction. Hit manual and put the selector in 2...it will skip 1st gear and start in second. Don't use it unless you need to.

If you're in 2 isn't that the highest gear you can go? ..or does pushing the manual button override that

There's a big green arrow called the back button too, you should click that before talking kthxbye

Were all entitled to a coupla noob questions. Some ppl are happy to answer some ppl feel the need to point out the obvious search buttonThe quick answers are good and hopefully right but check out the search too all sorts of good answers to be found.

Yup. In 2 it makes the transmission hold 2. In 3 it lets it switch between 2 and 3.

That's the highest it will go
unless you hit redline. Redline overrides all other priorities and forces a shift.
