I replaced the two-wire sensor (the lower one)
I could probably do that with the grounds, but I've never had the intake manifold off before. I can't see how I could get tools in there to get to the grounds unless I do that. Is there a howto around here about taking off the intake plenum? I looked at it last night, and it looks like I need to empty and disconnect the A/C hoses as well in order to do it... would that be right? I'm guessing from what I'm reading it's probably NOT a timing issue... timing probably wouldn't throw codes. However, the symptoms would say either that or I'm dealing with a problem where the ECU won't switch me to "run mode"... now just to find the cause... There's still a possibility the wiring harness might be toast. I'm not discounting that at this time, despite the fact that the car runs. With a bit of luck, I'll be able to test that soon... but in order to do that I'll still need to get that intake manifold off. Last edited by thumper_svx; 04-17-2007 at 09:07 AM. |

If you had a mouse building a nest under your manifold, I would check and then double or triple all the wiring in the surronding area. Mice need to chew to keep there teeth short, and wires are almost always the victim. I find it to usually be just the shielding, but it opens the wire up for shorts.
