Red face Tire Sizes

I'm thinking about new wheels, and I was wondering about the following:

1. 17" wheels, 245/40R17 tires - Would these tires work, or would they rub?

2. 18" wheels, 195/30R18 or 255/35R18 tires - Same question :P

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Depends more on the rims being used and their offset. I wouldn't recommend 195/30R18 as they are way too small.

I have a 225/45/17 with an offset of 42. I think the offset is what would be the big thing in rubbing. .Really there is no rubbing in till I make a really hard turn. I would go with an 225/45/17 but with a higher offset on the rim

good to know 245's fit. Was looking around in the rear wheel well, and man is that tight.

Though right now I am tempted to look into FD RX-7 rims and toss on some 205 or 215 wide hydroedge tires for mpg maximization.
