I have driven 200,000 miles in my SVX

Wow that's a lot of fun miles

It now has over 290,000 miles and when I got it had 90,000 miles.

Take care,

John

Congratulations John.

Sounds like a whole lot of pleasurable driving.

Just goes to show what these cars can do.

Nice one.

Joe

I thought it was a cool milestone when I realised I drove my car more than the previous owner(s). It's also in better condition now than when I bought it.

I'm not far behind with 170k miles. I used to drive 200 miles daily, now I only drive 40. It will take a little more time to catch up.

200,000 miles; wow, that's cool. With something in the neighborhood of 41,000 miles behind the wheel of mine, I've got some catching-up to do.

Congrats.

Well we know the engine is practically bullet-proof, if you change the oil and give it the normal care.

I reckon the transmissions would also hold if they all had the cooler installed early on, and the owners were diligent about changing the ATF at least yearly.

Also, and I don't know if anyone has ever done this, I wonder if it possible to put in a digital dial or thermometer for the ATF? One that would retain the record of the peak temperature spikes, and how often they happen?

Although watching for when the ATF turns smoky brown and smelly is probably just as effective if you heed the signs.

It's the science geek in me wants to measure everything!

High Milage SVX

Congratulations! It is nice to see the SVX can clock high milage. Yes I read about 2 people w/over 300,000 mi.
FYI.
As for the Automatic Tran. yes they will last, mine was replaced by the dealer April 3/ 1997, 70,088 km. and is still okay but I don't have that many miles on the SVX reletively speeking. i.e. 207,000 Km.

I have a cooler and fillter and I changed the filter and the Tran. screen once.

Wow and i got excited when i realized i was coming up on 10,000 in mine.

How long have you owned it to drive 200,000 miles? According to my calculations it would take me 26 years to get there with the amount i drive!

It is just Sooooo much fun to drive!!!!
I consider myself very fortunate to own this SVX and to drive it.
It is indeed a very nice highway car.

I just keep wonder lately about all that bad exhaust from the CAT's I breath on the highway everyday. You know the stuff the US EPA refuses to deal with.......... So i keep the windows rolled up!!!!! Hahaha
