WOW- you guys are sure on top of things. DZA (my son) couldn't say enough good stuff about all the help and info he got from the members - now I know why
I'm still trying to check #'s and trace lines for filter, cooler etc.
Got some good info from drwtransmissions.com on SVX tranny's (hope its good info) to check into.
Will definitely pick up that filter- also looking for somewhere to mount trans fluid temp guage without disturbing good interior.
Got an idea for fixing my sill covers- will get @ it as soon as I can and let you know how it worked
Still figuring out protocol for site and postings- hope this reply works

Looks like you're figuring things out. If you need a hand with something around here, just ask these guys or send me a private message (or email).

Protip:
If you type a website, ie www.drwtransmissions.com it will auto-parse as a link (see the check box by the submit reply button that says auto parse links in text)

Thanks Dan

It feels pretty good to have you looking after me for a change- watching me struggle, make mistakes, go thru the stuff you already did- looking ahead to try and warn me about pitfalls you know I'll find- reminds me of something I went thru??? (I probably won't listen either)
You've been a huge help to your old man as I researched and finally bought this car. I've always been proud of you and its great to see what a fine young man you've become- and I just love the car.
Wish we lived closer- sounds like a rendezvous sometime- Calgary? Kimberley? Golden? have to think about it.
Can't figure out subscript= quotes, car list or signature stuff= too many things to learn too fast
Got my "keyless ride" today but alarm flashes but never arms with key so not much chance of programming remote 'til I troubleshoot security module -won't go into programming mode (finger and button got tired trying)
will and let you know
Start and stall thing - what injector cleaner do you like- might as well start with the easy stuff-
We can get 94 octane here @ Mohawk - best I've seen so far

Welcome... and nice looking car!
I still check autotrader almost everyday(my habbit) around here, and hmm don't remember that nice red one was around. My old '92 pearlie is on sale now though(cars.com) I've travelled along 1-5 from LA to Portland before. I actually stopped by Eugene OR(kinda my old home town..) That was my 2nd day owning the SVX so I was excited, nonstop driving except for gas. Even after long driving (15hours?) I couldn't look at my SVX with bugs all over the front face so I just took it to the car wash right away...around 4am? I kept her clean as much as I could.

Hope you enjoy your ride!

Congrats on your new ride, for that many miles the car does look good. The car still looks good too with the lil spare tire.

In the chevy commercial or whatever make commercial that was, Paul Bunion put the axe in the back of the truck and drove away, so I don't think Paul and Babe are still there...LOL

Dave, I'm serious, no centercaps with that rim color looks fantastic. !

Paul Bunion and Babe (I think?) are @ "the Trees of Mystery" about 350 mi. N of San Francisco on Hwy 101- just south of Oregon border- had to get the shot 'cause of the TV commercial that ran around here. Great drive up the coast but ONLY in the off-season I suspect. Drove Hwy 1 last year in our Mini Cooper S- but that's REALLY windy- actually made me woozy a few times- but great to do once.
Will clean off bearing caps and inspect- then run without wheel caps for a while and see if extra crud gets in - bearings fragile enough without tempting fate
Thinking about Barcelona Red caps with black letters just for photo op to drive the members nuts - even tho' I'll probably run without them.
Raining today and car outside but not driven and surprise, surprise water in the trunk - curse Subaru tail lights- will check posts to see if anyone's got a better solution than mine- pull-clean-light silicone- replace- repeat -as often as req'd
Embarassed to say with Legacy turbo I finally drilled a hole to let the water out- capped it in summer -sigh- thought confessing would make it seem less stupid- but oh well
Thanks to everyone for the welcomes and great feedback- really looking forward to this new experience- fantastic community you got here!

Water in the trunk

Water in the trunk is a common problem but it might be an easy fix. When mine leaked it was because of the power antenna drain or the sunroof drain pipe. They are plastic hoses that can be checked (more by feel than by vision) behind the trunk interor on the driver's side. Remove the access panel to the driver's side tail light and feel around deep towards the front of the car. You should feel two plastic lines, both with joints that are connected only by a slight interference fit (different sizes of course). With mine, one of the plastic lines had separated. All I had to do was reconnect one of the lines where it had separated by reinserting the top portion into the larger bottom portion and voila - problem solved.

If that isn't your problem then do a search. There are a number of threads here dealing with this problem.

I have a friend that did the same thing when his refrigerator leaked. Rather than clear the line, he drilled a hole through the kitchen floor to let it drip into his unfinished basement. He was proud of his solution too!

Not passenger side - Driver's side. Sorry if my stupidity caused anyone any inconvenience. I'm going back now to fix my prior post.
