Check engine light just go on

(sorry for my bad english)

I think I have a major problem with my 1994 svx... First, when I start from a full stop, my car feel like if I have the hand brake on...Then, after 3-4 sec, the car go normally. And sometimes, after a fast acceleration, there are some smoke going up over my bell housing.

Also, as soon as my engine take the normal driving temperature, the check engine light go on. I also notice that I have a little power lost.

Is my tranny's going to die? What about my cluches? (and by the way, whats the deal with those cluches? where they are located?)

if its the tranny you will see a power light come on when you first start the car... the clutch packs are located in the tranny and they are the link between the front and rear of the drive train... do a search for the how to check the codes for your check engine light

Procedures for checking all the SVX codes are in the SVXipedia on http://svx-iw.com

This is the best place to start troubleshooting but it sounds like you have multiple problems.

Can you tell what kind of smoke you are seeing?
