I've been thinking
If the STi has a 2.5l 4cyl. and its 6mt will bolt up to our engines, the Legacy GT has a 2.5l 4cyl. also, shouldnt its 5at bolt up to our engines also? I dont know about you, but driving around a 5-speed automatic SVX with sport shift would be pretty ko0l! Does anyone have measurements of the 5eat from the Legacy? Ideas?

This would be nice to know, as my box needs rebuilding, i am asuming they would bolt up unless there is an external design change to the box in the 5eat, i am under the belief that all modern suby auto boxes are identical and that the internals are what differs... some one please corect me if im wrong

the wiring might be a pain, but I figure if I could afford a new tranny, specifically THAT new tranny, I could probably pay someone to figure it out for me..

Asked about the TCU, hes not sure if he has it, where is the TCU located on the legacy? Since the car will have a different TCU I wont have power mode anymore correct? Anything else im missing? Update
I should be buying the legacy tranny/driveshaft/rear diff/wiring looms/and hopfully the TCU today! After I get them all here I will do the ECU/TCU testing on my '92, I've been talking to some other members here on the network and it seems alot of other people have thought about this before, so I was thinking I might make some extra SVX ECU to Legacy TCU converters, so it wont be so much of a hassel for other people to do this swap.
Some questions I have are: The "Power" light in the dash is operated by the SVX TCU correct? And where is the Legacy TCU located? I'll update again later when some other bumps in the road come along. Thanks dustin

you had better get the whole wiring warness and find some diagrams and schematic to work with... This is gonna be a large scale operation

Im actually thinking about reviving this and am currently thinking of what path i'll take to get this rolling. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions please feel free to post them! Im gonna need some help from you tranny guru's and alot of the electronics people. Thanks

I'm not sure of the actual dimentions of the 5spd, but assume its big. IIRC downpipes that worked fine with 5/6spd manuals didn't fit on the 5spd auto.
