My favorite came recently, from someone who drives a new Infiniti, upon hearing what I'd paid for the car:

"What?! You're kidding! Well, uhh, wha... what's wrong with it?"

A new headlight assembly for his car would likely cost more than I paid for my SVX.

Well people ask me if it is convertible... they see a dark top and the lower part silver, so they think it is a hard top if taken out you get a convertible..

Comments are not as fast and often now our local Subi dealer sold like 14 of them so we have a few in town or at least had. My favorite was the first time I test drove it in 1992. a guy was filling his corvette with gas he was so mezmerized by it he spilled gas all over himself. My SVX is on the way to the U2 concert I am gona be up all night waiting for it to get home. <LOL>

Mine tend to say "Eeek slow down!"

(the odd thing is that I dont usually go more than a few miles over the speed limit)

My recent favorite is "The way you drive makes me have to take a crap."

Other than that I've had nothing but good comments on the car.

My boyfriend has gotten to the point that we take his Integra instead of the SVX... He says driving my car is apparently better than anything he can do for me... So my boyfriend is jealous of my car? lol

Im always surprised at how slow i feel like Im going when Im actually going relatively fast.... 60mph feels like Im crawling...

I'm anxious to get mine from Pitts down here to Miss.

I already have my insurance agent at a semi-loss, he asked for the VIN so he can figure out what to do with it. He's never had to write a policy for one and the model may have to be added to their database.

He knows for sure the company Farm Bureau has never written a policy for one.

There's some car shows around here that "Yellow Bird" will be going too. THe biggest one over is over in Tupelo for Elvis Presley's week long celebration - it's called "Blue Suede Cruise". It could prove interesting.

My boyfriend and i take his Chevy Beretta everywhere we go b/c he feels threatened by my love for the car. But that could be b/c there is at least 2 photos of it in my purse at all time and once in a while a photo of him gets dropped in when i'm out of town for more than 2 days (well everyone knows what i date: a boy and no one wants to see him, but the svx isnt as common and i love pulling out a photo of her and getting that response "OMG i remember those cars! We're they really really expensive?" and being able to say "yup" and knowing i paid 2000 including taxes )

No jiggle, slap, or tickle will make my seat belts go forward for me. They work fine for a while then if someone gets in the rear seat (most of the time me) they stop working. Its become more of a problem recently. Next warm day i'll fix it, i should have on the last warm day but i washed and waxed it insead (much to my neighbors dismay)

I know what you mean I've had several comments from my passengers.

"This is a Subaru?"
"How do I put down the window?"
"This is one smooth car."
"It's all wheel drive?"
"How are you going to get the pizza box through the window?"

I've heard that one too. I tell them the curb. There are no fluids in my SVX. The only exception is the occasional half full fast food cup with a promise of death if the car interior is damaged in anyway.
"You want a drink? hang on i'll pull over." may be my most commonly said phrase to passangers or prehaps its "the belt is over here." when they start searching behind them.

My experience when it was running

"That is the ugliest car Ive ever seen" This quote came from a woman driving a Cavalier with duct tape holding her rear window on. I also liked going through drive-thru fast food and they ask you do you need a drink carrier and my response yes to hold the drinks and no it wont fit through the window, damn supersize cups I also got pulled over one night by the local sheriffs dept just to be asked what kind of car it was, I thanked the officer for letting me crap in my pants because I needed only one more ticket before I went to driving school
