Locked trunk
Help me! I have the worst luck. Okay my trunk is locked and my seat (all of a sudden) won't let down, and the lil pulley thing on the floor wont work because the the trunk slammed due to the bad shocks on there and it tilted the lockout device. I tore through the keyhole to no avail. When I stick my finger in the hole I can't feel anything, no lever no nothing. Is it a way to get into the trunk without breaking anything else?

Yeah I'll say
You don't know the half of it. And all this stuff happened at once. But my wife did have my car.

The seat has a switch on the back of it that will prevent it from folding down, and the trunk has a switch that will prevent the opener from popping it. With both switches locked, the only way to get in the trunk is with the key.

OK
I looked at how the mechanism is setup, by looking thru the access panel on the inside of the trunk lid. Get a heavy long needlenose plier {curly one would be nice}. Get an automotive mirror on a telescopic post, and find the lever that you dropped into the bottom of the trunk lid when you tried to remove the lock. Grab that lever, {it runs horizontally} and with the needlenose pliers, work the lever left and right, and your in. I have pulled my backseat bottom out, and it will offer no help. All the tolerances are too close for anything to go thru, even if you could find the unlock for the seat. Last edited by ShiuludeSVX; 11-05-2005 at 12:34 PM. |

If that doesn't work also, just grab a chunk of C4 and do the thing

I would have gotten a key too. Why doesn't the key open the trunk? It should open it. I don't know what to do if the key lock is out. Let us know the answer when you get it open.

I think our friend was relying on the interior trunk release handle and has removed the lock before and never got the time to put it back... this is why he got himself into this thing...
