Why don't you take the left side, I'll repaint my black one yellow too and I'll take the right side of Randy. We'll make him love yellow.

If the car locked up, it could be axel or diff. Most likely front diff.

well, the box of rox comment is really what set off my radar. Sounds like it is you front diff. Talk to Tom (SVXfiles) and see if he may be able to help you out fixing it, I can always ship the parts to him

It's probably the front differential, yeah.

But if I have the whole things out, ..... the tranny itself is okay but doesn't engage in awd easily, shift hard..... I don't want to spend another time to rebuilt if it goes bad again?

5spd? 4.44? rebuilt the whole thing? Just fix the differential?

reliability?
fun factor?
cost?

Any opinion?

I will give myself 1 week or more to decide.

Keep the parts for me, Tom. I'm 95% need this soon.

Question: does a tranny shop rebuilt the differential with warranty?

so say, if I do 5psd, I also need this differential....? Do I need a new driveshaft?

No problem! We have to work hard together to make him see yellow all the time.

That'll be his most favorite reading...

No you do not need the current front diff since they are all sealed inside the trans. When You replace a front diff, it has almost nothig to do with the transmission itself, so if you are running on a bebuilt trans, it will still be there. most shops do not touch the diff when rebuilding transmissions

I love this color, it makes me sick as I look at the big fine yellow ass every time.... I hope my teal one is not jealous but I still take care of her.

Ah you can do a 4.11 swap in a weekend with nothing more than a socket set, 4 big jack stands and a tranny jack (you can rent the stands and jacks from a local rental place). Better yet take pay SVXfiles to come on up and help ya. You should be able to get it ready for him on a sat and then have him come on Sunday to finish her up.

I would love to, and, Tom will be happy to make some xtra cash.

But I don't have a garage, the weather is getting cold. We already had snow. And, I probably don't have enough tools as well..................

Nice talking with you the other day, Tom.

I'm more go with the option of lower gearing......

I love manual, too. But I think it will cost me too much and alot of time too. Plus, we have snow in the past few days...I would like to get back my yellow awd svx back to road soon...
