No chug chug here, just dies. You folks confirmed my IAC suspicions; will clean it ASAP. That is, after I get some honey dos off of my list, otherwise she'll open up a can of Whoopass on me this weekend
Have a good weekend. Ali

Jim,
I appreciate the help. As kind of a newbie to doing this kind of work, can you elaborate a little on what this IAC looks like. According to Beav, I'll have to pull off the throttle body to get at it. I sure would appreciate some instructions on how to go about doing this cleaning. Thanks to all, Bill |

Well I'm still working this problem. I cleaned the throttle body this weekend with no noticeable change in performance. Here is exactly what happens:
Car starts cold, no problem. Car idles at about 1500 rpm, no problem. As the engine warms up, the idle speed begins to drop. Still OK. Engine warms to point where idle is down to 1000 rpms, now the problem Engine starts to vary idle rpms, can't really see a change on the tach, but you can here it revving differently. May stall, may not. Engine continues to warm and idle speed drops below 1000 rpms and everything is fine again. So, I have a very narrow window where there is an idling issue. Is it the IAC? How do I go about cleaning that? Thanks, Bill |

Anyone who has cleaned their IAC want to submit a writeup on SVXipedia?
