Rx-8 Wheels
If anybody is interested, i just found out this weekend that rx-8 wheels fit perfect. No rubbing and actually look pretty good. The factory mazda tire size could use a little help. (225-45-18's) Kinda looks like it isn't wide enough for the rim look. But who cares, There 18's and fit like a glove. I try and post some pics tommorrow.

sounds good! I'm a fan of the rotary-powered Mazdas. How much did you pay for them, what do they weigh, offset? I'm looking forward to pics.

With 18" you really should be running a 40 aspect ratio... i.e. 225/40/18. Otherwise, your speedo will be off.
I'm not 100% sure on it, but it could have an effect on the drivetrain as well. |

it's only a problem for the drivetrain if the wheels have different circumfrencial lengths.

Stock wheel height is 24.86"
225-45/18 works out to 25.97" or 4.47% taller 60mph becomes 62.7mph with these tires. The engine/tranny will have to work harder to get the car moving as well. Expect a slight increase in tranny temps in city driving.

I remember reading many times that 225/40 18 is at 25.3". So basically, it's just bringing your speedometer closer to reality.

Here's the pics, I actually have a set from a customer who wanted different wheels for his rx8 and had these laying around. He wants way to much money for them, but i have seen a few sets on ebay without tires for 350.00 and with tires for 500.00 to 800.00. There is aset on there now for 399.00 buy it now with no tires but are practically brand new.

I forgot to mention, i drove on the set for about two days and no problems whatsoever, Seemed to run fine as far as spedd and acceleration. Handled great, rode a bit rougher. Otherwise than that i was all good.

Would you re post that pic I've been trying to find a set of those myself. So has it been confirmed if the factory tires are ok to use?

I thought it had to be close to the stock rolling diameter. Doesn't anything different from stock cause the clutch packs to wear
