Stereo door falls down when opened

The stereo door doesn't glide down...it falls down. I also have to push on the bottom of it slightly when I depress the button to get it to open. Any way to fix the door so it glides down without replacing the whole thing?

TIA

Hmmm. Sounds like it just isn't positioned properly. I would try repositioning it.

Take off black plastic shroud on door. It is only clipped on.

Remove screw on black frame panel (goes aroud head unit) and take out frame

There are two screws that hold the entire assembly in place. Loosen them and try to move the assembly around. Find a position that allows for smooth operation of the door.

Hope this helps.

It could also be the spring that is supposed to push the door down. Mine popped out of place causing the same symptoms. If you pull the Assy. out of the dash just a few inches you will see it on the lower right side.
