What still no GT with a 6 cylinder? I'm glad I didn't wait for the new one although I would've loved VTD if I could talk my wife into an auto in the first place. I just don't get the desire to keep a 6 and a 2.5XT (I'm guessing turbo) only on the Outback model. Why put it on a car that handles worse, brakes worse and has no real advantage unless you need an extra inch of ground clearance and not at least offer it for the GT. It isn't like they'd have to do any different retooling or anything.

Who needs a 6 cyl when you have a turbo 4 pumping out 250HP/250Tq?

i'd prefer the turbo over the 6-cylinder - easier and cheaper to make more power. (unless its a turbo 6-cylinder )

Hi Ben, You buy an Outback Sedan. Remove the Spacers that raise the car up to make it an Outback and what do you have?. GT! Take care, BOBB

i don't know about that - you'd better sit in one first. the WRX seems like a Lincoln town car in comparison as far as interior space. i sat in one at the car show and felt kinda claustrophobic - it seems very narrow inside. still a very cool looking car. i'll wait to see if the performance version of the Legacy comes out in a year (300+hp has been hinted at.)

i'd really prefer an STi with a sequential-manual shifter, so the wife would be able to drive it if she had to, and also for the nimbleness of the smaller-bodied Impreza. SMG gearbox Subaru!!!! you have a few years to do it until i'm ready for a new car! that wing and wheels would have to go, though.

I would opt for the 3.0R. Now that thing is hot.

i sat in an '05 outback at the denver auto show last month. the thing that bothered me the most was the placement of the e-brake. i figure how much time will i be sitting in the car with the handle up? not a lot. besides, our impreza is a base model 2.2L. since the claret svx is my daily driver, when i do drive it, it's difficult to deal with it's lack of oomph!

My situation is the opposite, and a little more extreme. I drive the Justy on a daily basis, so when I drive the SVX it feels like an absolute rocket.

All the GTs? What did they do to make it so cheap then? I just wonder if it'll have the same lack of build quality that the 03s have.
