I am a pessimistic optimistic. I think the worst is going to happen, that way when it does, i don't feel as bad, but if the best happens, i am twice as happy.

Phil, that thing is wild. I love it. That makes my stock AMD XP2500 fan look like pure junk. Good buy!

Wow, that dwarfs my Volcano 7+. My laptop has a setup kind of like that. Heat plate on the CPU then a heat pipe to the radiator and fans. Very unusual and interesting design for a desktop cooling system.

You seem to not have read the link very well - those aren't heat pipes (althought that's what I thought at first too), those are superconductors.

I used to have a water cooled machine a while back. Hehe. I also had a fridge cooled unit (yeah a whole computer in a fridge).

hey phil, these are becoming more common. a friend of mine brought over his 'new' cube type computer because it had a problem. the parallel port wasn't working with his printer. i took it apart and saw a cooling device similar to that. to better describe it, it actually looked like a tranny cooler with fins. i think i'll have to accidently kick his box so that i can rip it open and snap a few shots for you. it looked interesting. now all we need to do is add a little tranny fluid .

I believe it's Apples that started that trend. Nice job I'd say. Before Apple did that, I've only seen 3 cubed machines. Now they are a lot more common.

I think your talking about a Shuttle, they are sweet little boxes. but very snug. The cooling is known as a heat pipe, the shuttle has a 90degree turn in the pipes, then the fan on it. very cool(no pun intended) device.
Shuttle
got one for my father-in-law
