The day after

So does anyone else celebrate the day after Christmas (Boxing Day) the same way as we do in Canada?

I'll be getting up at 5am to get to my electronics store of choice for the near free sale of all extra stock!

DVD Players: $5
CD Burners: $5
Complete home theater systems: $99
etc...

What the hell do you do, go buy a pair of boxing gloves for $5 then go beat the crap out of the electronics store owner and run out with the goods?

Actually I think the gloves are to fight off the other shoppers in order to grab the goods before they do.

I always shop at OTT. It is a big discount chain. They run special sales every so often. The good thing is that you cannot beat their prices. The bad thing is that they only accept cash, no checks or credit cards.

OTT = Off The Truck.

Here's my Boxing Day adventure:

got 3 hours sleep and woke up at 5:15am

Went to location #1 at about 5:50 (opens at 6)
- bought LG DVD Burner for $120
- bought 2-way pager car alarm for $289 (installed)

Went to location #2 at about 6:50 (opens at 7:00)
- waited in line OUTSIDE for 2 hours (small store/big line). Older man stumbles out, looking drunk but said he was just dizzy and needed some fresh air. He then passes out, falls to the ground and hits his head on the only sewage drain in the parking lot. Several people call 911 and the ambulance comes and takes him away.
- didn't buy anything here

Went to location #3 at around 9:45
- bought I/O Magic DVD Burner for $100
- bought 100 DVD-R blanks for $120
- bought D-Link WirelessG router for $50

Went to work for 3pm.

(prices in CAD, ~30% higher than USD)
(prices are after Mail-In-Rebates)
