if we didn't get snow in this stinkin' town i wouldn't have. it just seemed like such a waste sitting in the garage all winter, while the car i had to drive every morning got covered with snow and ice that i had to get up early to clean off.

Wish I had not sold my 1980 928 5 speed with it's borla for peanuts. Why do some SVX's seem to exceed their governed top speed of 143 mph?? My 92 never does.

Can the XT6 hang with the SVX on the top end? I'm thinking no but it can't hurt to ask. The SVXs crazy gear ratio helps a lot.

Thanks!
ive gone over this before. my old 88 auto xt6 with blown gaskets topped out at 125, and a friends 91 5 spd hit 155 according to the police report.

i think a manual xt6 will destroy an svx off the line and hang with it up to 145.

ive raced my xt6 many times. on average my X passed it at about 60 than leaves it behind.

I am fairly sure the 92's and 93's were NOT limited by the ECU. I know mine is not. I will not say any more than that!
I was only trying to prove something to myself and no one else.

You are correct. 1992 and 1993 MY SVXs are not governed.

Yeah.. me too.. Around 130mph is about as far as I go. I'm too young to die The fastest I've gone was around 148mph in a S Class Mercedes in Germany (240km/h). I had a friend whose company car was this sweet 420S. It somehow didn't seem scary back then because I didn't even have driver license and driving seems so much safer when you can't do it yourself Anyways... we cruised for maybe 30sec. at that speed and then quit. There was no vibrations or anything in the car. Solid rock. that's all remember. My SVX needs new tires before I try anything stupid again.

The more you do it, the easier it gets. If there is a raceway near you that has an "open to the public" day, give it a try. There may not be any straights long enough to reach 110+, but you'll at least get accustomed to 100+ mph.

I just raced a buddy of mine with the same car - '92 liquid silver... His was a little faster. He pulled at first but then I cought up slowly. I think it's because of my shiftkit. His car has 120K and mine has 160K. It was fun though except that we did it around towntown Seattle and I had 3 small drinks right before that. That's big gamble -> I'd go straight to jail. So... we decided we'll do it again some time up to 120. It was just 80mph max this time. I'll keep you guys posted.

I don't know what you are talking about... This is the only time that I've been anywhere near this fast in my SVX... There is nothing wrong with that... Do you see something wrong with that??? Other than it being extremly against the law... My car has always been pampered and babied... You want to explain what you mean in your above statement...
