I likey! that could make me forget all about the Mustang Concept, even if they aren't being original by doing the retro thing.

You serious? That is part of what makes it so great and instantly recognizable for what it is.

They won't build it. Period. GM is all about making cool show cars and then not building them. Chrysler, on the other hand (cough Viper, Prowler, PT cruiser, Crossfire cough) does.

Being original by doing the Retro thing ???????
isnt that a contridiction of terms, or something weird like that.
I love the Stang....and personally hope if and when GM brings back the Camaro, its better then that......but hope it has
some 69 heritage in its new form somewhere.
I saw a better version of their idea a yr ago.....have to find
the pic.

Don't really like the stang concept...

But that is nice!!!!!!! I doubt they will build it since they already decided to kill the Maro. Unless they wait like 40 years like Ford is doing with the GT-40 (which I am convinced was started by Gran Turismo). I also believe GT is the cause for the popularity of the WRX+Sti , the Lancer, and most of the ricers Back to the Maro, I like all of it except for the lower front bumper. I think the chin spoiler takes away from the lines of the car and the lower grill makes it look a little too much like Johnny 5 http://www.jeffbots.com/johnny5.html

P.S. Not to start a war but I don't concider the Pt Cruiser or Crossfire really that cool, I'm sure they have much cooler.

The camaro/firebird isn't really dead. GM killed the F-bodies, unfortunally the camaro/firebird were F-bodies. Just think of it as the monte carlo, it was gone for a whie, then came back in 95. So probably in the next 6-10 years we'll see a new one once as everyone wines that they miss it (like the Thunderbird too just for another example)

You don't think the crossfire is cool?! That sucks. I think they're pretty slick.

I can't say this is 100% but there is a guy I know who works in Detroit who swears that there will be a 2006 Camaro. Now he doesn't work for GM or anything but he feels he is close enough to know.

Yeah it is a contradiction in terms...I guess but what I meant was that it was un-original for Camaro to pull the 69 look-a-like retro thing right after the Mustang concept everyone has seen. I do think the pic is a photo-chop though, Maybe someone should mail it to GM

100% without a doubt the camaro will be back. Will it look like that? Who knows. That would be sweet though. GM has produced or has committed to produce almost all of the show cars they presented since 2000. The Silverado SS, SSR, Evoq (XLR), Technic (next year's Cav Z), GTO, SS (Chevy's GTO), and HOPEFULLY they will follow through on the Cadillac 16. This is most likely because of Mr. Lutz and his influences. It's nice that somebody can do it. But GM started out being the largest producer of automobiles when he came aboard, and soon it will be the most talked about too.

The photo is real, it was in this month's issue of Hot Rod magazine.
