You should be able to use the stock CD player input for an AUX.

As far as I know, all the SVX stereos have the CD input allowing dealers to install the CD player on non CD equipped cars.

I've been searching for years for a schematic of the stereo. I found lots of places that advertise schematics for every car stereo ever made, but when I contact them, they do not have anything for our stereo.

If I recall correctly, there are 6 wires that leaves the CD deck to go to the radio. So I assume L/R and L Ground, R ground and power and ground. I could be wrong.

I think the connector circuit board will be labeled inside the radio if you open it up. The main stereo connector is. One of the leads is the override that sets the input to CD and stops the radio.

I have heard rumors that any Panasonic in dash CD unit will interface with the stereo but I wouldn't test it without checking first

Smile SVX Radio

Hmm, I am installing a WRX 6 disc CD/Radio with subwoofer in my SVX. I hate switching CD's all the time. Got the idea from alex_umn, he has pictures of it already installed in his personal locker. Got the SVX connecter from SVXdc down in Georgia to interface with the main wiring harness of the SVX. The connector to plug into the radio head unit I got From Scosche, the aftermarket accessory for car stereos. If anyone else wants to do it here are the links:

http://www.scosche.com/scosche/connectors/SU03R.asp

the link to scosche will be take you to the actual connector you will need.

http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/show...wiring+harness

Thanks again Dave, I would have to have cut my wires if it were not for your harness!

Good Luck!

ok whats this all about

I'm going to build an mp3/wma info center/player out out spare wintel parts so I needed to know wether the radio had inputs. Since the answer is yes I don't need to buy another head unit, I'm not into total volume just convince! I'm also building this thing with wifi (wifi cards only being 30 bucks or so) so that as soon as I get in range (the garage) it will appear on my network thus I can upload mp3's or what ever... thanks for the info

thanks
