Re: Grille Light Modification.

I never minded the Lancer's but they are in an entirely different class than the SVX. The SVX stands out more than a Lancer by far because of the unique styling. I'd drive a Lancer if someone gave me one and I'd probably love it... Just not more than my SVX..

Now a 3000GT... That'd be fun.

Yes, they are quite douchy. I mean, the come "Pre-riced out" straight from the factory without any real performance mods in them (just looks) but the owners still seem to think they are driving a million dollar super-car.

If you like them, go for it :P ....as for me

Did you ever get around to posting the How-Tos? I was looking for the one that shows how to remove the center grille?

Thanks

IIRC, there are 4 clips on the back of the grille that you have to loosen. You push in the tabs on the clips, and the grille will slowly come out. I don't believe the DIY included how to remove the grille.

Re: Grille Light Modification.

.

There are TWO clips (one on each side)

Just keep a little outward pressure on the grille, while sticking a small screwdriver down into the top clasps.

once the two top clasps are loose, tilt the top out while pulling up (as the bottoms just slide down into a grommet) and it should pop right out. Installation is just the reverse.

Done this many times.

Re: Grille Light Modification.

I had both grilles, never did care for the 97 grille. I believe I still have the modified waterfall from the first post in my garage somewhere. I should really put it in my room.

Re: Grille Light Modification.

Any "How To's" on opening a waterfall grille? Haven't decided on a light, or as someone mentioned in another thread, putting an external EZ-Pass transponder inside one. Got it out of the car, but curious if there's an easy way to open it up without damaging it

Re: Grille Light Modification.

Instructions are pretty damn vague where to put the screwdriver. Looked to me like they're pinch clips.(?) squeeze them and pull the grill forward. I literally blew a bulb and need to remove the headlamp to get the glass out.
