This thing has 150k miles and it's priced at a "bargain" at ELEVEN-THOUSAND DOLLARS!

Theres even a bid at $4,500. How much is a car in that condition worth. I would think you could get a nicer one for less. No offense meant if it is anyone here who has bid on it.

I was thinking the same thing. LetItSnow was having minor issues selling his amazing 92 pearly for around 2k and this thing with less mods and higher milage is going for much more? Wtf?

Mods usually lower the price of a car in the market. Originality is king... especially cars that are now over 20 years old... the SVX has just become one of these cars.

Yes, there is no question that the ebay seller does have one foot in dreamland as far as the BIN price But his opening price is OK. The car seems to be in nice shape. He's feeling it out, this is the second or third time he has listed it.

The SVX is fading from the "used car" market and moving over to a collector's car. Now, what a "collector" will pay for an SVX is what a collector will pay... we can't apply any reason or "market" to it... example:

I was watching Barrett-Jackson on TV when that one went. Final bid $198,000. It was an awsome restoration but I'm not sure it's worth that

When it comes to price, it is only worth what someone will pay for it. Whether they think it is the last one on earth, or a dime a dozen.

I had a bus like that, only without the little windows in the roof. I froze in the winter, boiled in the summer, got blown all over the road by every errant breeze, and never went above 45MPH.

It was a POS.

For me, that price is absolute proof that Barrett-Jackson bidders have lost all touch with reality and now live in a self-created, self-supporting price bubble. Good luck to them.

The quality of the car has no bearing on the price. It's such a poor analogy. That car is rarer than rare and is an UBER motoring icon of the 1960's. The coolest transport/lodgings of the So Cal surfing/hot rod scene. Guys of this era are getting to an age where they want to get those things that they lived/dreamed of, and they have the money to do it.

It makes no sense that $100,000 gets a 1967 mass produced piece of Detroit iron right after a 1975 Ferrari Boxer went for the same amount. These guys are buying cars that wowed them back in the day.

It makes no sense... jut as it makes no sense for anyone on these boards to fawn over SVX's day and night... it's what we like... and that's what the other guy likes, it's a passion and hobby. And it's what I love about car guys.

i had a hard time selling my svx with only 36k or some where around that , after 3 months ! i sold it for 5,500 !! its absolutly mint, !!

you can buy a very nice new car for that price,

im actually on the market for a low milage svx as a 3rd car
