Steel wheels for snows

Tony, IMO 20 minutes with a wire brush and a couple coats of silver in a spray can would look much better than black steel rims.

Yeah, I may actually give it a try. I have a can of automotive paint I was going to use to touch up my old outback (Titanium Pearl), which I have since sold. I'm sure there is enough in there to do all 4 wheels. Maybe I should grab the rims from the snow man and give it a shot. Would you strip them completely down to bare metal or just wire brush off the paint that is peeling and/or weakly bonded to the metal?

For snows, I would just brush down the bad spots. Paint them before you get the tires mounted and you don't have to mask anything. Pull out the valve stems, they'll put new ones in when you get the tires mounted.
